Watermelon Plush Crochet KeyCHain
Create a cute 4” watermelon slice plushie keychain to wear with you on a backpack, purse, or add to an outfit for a fun touch! This can also be a subtle way to show support for Palestinians as the watermelon has become a symbol of resistance. The watermelon was adopted as a pro-Palestine symbol after Israel banned the flag of Palestine. The colors of the watermelon are the same as the flag, thus a stand in when the flag itself was not allowed.
This is part of my collection of Watermelon patterns in support of Palestine. I also sell these items in my shop and donate 50% of proceeds from them to American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA). If you can, I strongly encourage you to donate. Please be vocal about standing up against the genocide happening in Palestine. Use your voice because it does matter!
I encourage you to make these patterns and share them with others to show solidarity with Palestine. Feel free to sell these patterns. I’d love it if you joined me in using these patterns to fundraise alongside me, too!

Keep green yarn on hook (or put a stitchmarker in working stitchso it doesn’t start to get undone)
Cut a length of black yarn and use a tapestry needle to stitch“seeds” to the red circle. Keep all the ends on one side of the circle
ROW 6: Fold the circle in half, keeping the ends on the inside of the circle. Sl st the sides together. Cut yarn and leave a long tail. I use the tail to sew the jump ring into the top of the watermelon, after I’ve attached the jump ring to one end of the length of the chain and the keychain ring to the other. Weave any leftover ends.
Cut yarn and weave in ends! Now you have a crochet watermelon plush keychain!
