Crochet Star pattern
I made these start patterns out of necessity when I made a bunch of Captain Marvel inspired crochet pieces to celebrate the movie release. I hope you find this helpful if you are in search of a star pattern similar to the Hala star from the Marvel comics!
Materials:
H hook (5mm)
Worsted weight #4 yarn
Darning needle
Scissors
Abbreviations:
MC: magic circle
rnd: round
ch(s): chain
sc: single crochet
st(s): stitch
hdc: half double crochet
sl st: slip stitch
dc: double crochet
Small Star
(Approximately 3” from top of long point to bottom of the opposite point)
create a magic circle, ch 1
Rnd 1: sc 6 in MC, sl st together, 6 sts
Rnd 2: {ch 4, sc 1 in next ch, hdc 1 in next 2 chs, sl to rnd 1} [ch 3, sc 1 in next 2 chs, sl st to rnd 1] rep {} then [] 3 more times to create a total of four long points and four shorter ones
cut yarn and weave in ends
Medium Star
(Approximately 4” from top of long point to bottom of the opposite point)
create a magic circle, ch 1
Rnd 1: hdc 8 in MC, sl st together, 8 sts
Rnd 2: {ch 5, sc 1 in next ch, hdc 1 in next 3 chs, sl to rnd 1} [ch 3, sc 1 in next 2 chs, sl st to rnd 1] rep {} then [] 3 more times to create a total of four long points and four shorter ones
cut yarn and weave in ends
Large Star
(Approximately 6” from top of long point to bottom of the opposite point)
create a magic circle, ch 1
Rnd 1: dc 10 in MC, sl st together, 10 sts
Rnd 2: {ch 7, sc 1 in next 2 chs, hdc 1 in next 2 chs, dc in next 2 chs, sl to rnd 1} [ch 5, sc 1 in next ch, hdc in next 2 chs, dc in next ch, sl st to rnd 1] rep {} then [] 3 more times to create a total of four long points and four shorter ones
cut yarn and weave in ends
